Challenge
For such a large company with lots of information systems point-to-point integration is not a viable solution. The customer wanted the data transportation mechanism to be lightweight, without complex logic, and to perform solely the function of transferring messages from one system to another. At the same time, it was necessary to take into account the company's need for poor interconnectedness of systems so that, if necessary, remove one of them or replace them with another for the rest of the systems, this would remain unchanged.
Solution
To solve the task set by the customer, Kafka was integrated into the project's enterprise infrastructure. Kafka is a distributed messaging system that can store data indefinitely.
